Susanna graduated with a BFA from the Northwest College of Art, Poulsbo, WA, in 2001. Since then she has shown in both her hometown of Helena, MT, and Seattle, WA. After graduation, Susanna moved back to Helena, MT, to be with family and earn Psychology credits from Carroll College to fulfill requirements for a Masters of Art Therapy. Instead of going right to grad school, she decided back to head to Seattle in summer 2003, to use the degree she already earned.
Business went well for Susanna in Seattle, starting off at the First Thursday Gallery Walk in Pioneer Square. She met other artists, designers, and vendors. Networking helped Susanna's business to grow from paintings, prints, magnets, and cards to clothing. Creating wearable art proved a practical way to flourish and grow her small business. Using heat transfers accurately conveyed the many colors and fine line quality of Susanna's art. Also, all aspects of production could be performed by the artist herself. This made the small clothing line production both manageable and practical.
